Chiang Mai City Tour (Tour Code CNX-301)

Tour Itinerary

On this tour, we will visit Wat Suan Dork, Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chiddi Luang. Each is characteristic and unique and is evident by traditional achitecture with large influence from neighboring Myanmar(formerly Burma).

FYI:
Wat Pra Singh was built in 1345. Teh Vihan (Chapel) houses the Phra Singh Buddha. It is another example of classic northern Thai style architecture to be found from this period in Chiang Maui and northern parts of Loas such as Luang Prabang.

Wat Chedi Luang was found in 1401 and is dominated by the large Lanna style chedi which was started at the same time, but took many years to finish building. The chedi was damanged by an earthquake in the 16th century, so now only two thirds of it remain. The chedi was recently restored to a resemblance of its former glory, although still not to its original size.

Wat Suan Dawk was built in 1383 and its chapel was rebuilt in 1932. The chapel contains a 500 years old bronze Buddha image.
