Elephant Camp / Mae-Tang Camp (Tour Code CNX-304)

Tour Itinerary
By air-conditioning van, proceed to Mae-Taeng district to visit the Mae-Teman Elephant camp, see the elephants responding to the commands and demonstrations of working in the jungle by dragging and pushing logs. Pushing and hauling logs is hard work and as such, only half of the day is spent doing hard labor. Assist the elephants in their favorite activity ?«?? bathing!
Experience elephant rides through the jungle for 1 hour, and then take a 15-minute ride in an Ox-Cart back to the Camp.
Lunch will be provided at the Camp. After lunch, enjoy the peaceful scenery ride on the Bamboo Raft along Mae-Taeng River for an hour. There are lychee plantations, logan plantations and other tropical fruit orchards to view.
Note:
As the national animal of Thailand, the elephant has a very special place in Thai folklore. In fact, Thailand has been associated with elephants for hundreds of years. The national flag was previously a white elephant on a red background and elephatns - in particular white ones, were an essential part of royal panoply. Unfortunately, there are very few elephants left in the wild anymore and their very existence is thought to be in considerable danger. Nowadays, elephants are mainly used as tourist attractions in camps and shows up and down the country.
